Great little cafe/sandwich bar near the overground/tube station. I entered around 9:30am, super friendly staff greeted me, and £2.50 later I was chomping on a fresh egg and bacon muffin and coffee.
Everything in the cabinets looked fresh and the coffee is espresso. Although rather milky I enjoyed it.
Blackboard with daily specials, recommended for a quick stop or hang around. No Wi-Fi but there are access points in the area which you may pick up near the window. -

I came here on my quest to try every restaurant in Islington so I was very open minded. The restaurant looked very authentic, although quite run-down looking.
The two gentleman working behind the counter were very friendly and had lots of recommendations about what to eat. I ordered the jacket potato with bacon and cheese. I asked for some salad on the side and a massive almond Danish for pudding. All in all it came to £5 exactly which I thought was incredibly reasonable!
There was an array of different foods ranging from vegetarian lasagna to carbonara and Danish's to brownies.
When I got back to my desk with the potato I was even more impressed as my potato was basically swimming in bacon and cheese! Mmmmmm!
I thoroughly recommend this cafe for a quick, cheap and tasty meal! -

Seriously a baguette with parma, artichoke and rocket. Heaven. This seemingly authentic italian cafe has 3 branches that I know of and serve fresh pastries, lunch snacks and sandwiches. The coffee is also wonderful, really well brewed and well priced. This is my goto place if I want a treat after a swim at Highbury Pool.

Right across the road from the busy roundabout next to Highbury & Islington tube station.
At lunchtime I was immediately greeted and four staff were ready to take my order with friendly Italian enthusiasm and energy.
You can get takeaway or sit in. There was a good banter going on between customers and servers.
A range of cold and hot sandwiches including salt beef and paninis as well as cooked breakfasts and pasta dishes on offer all on display and looking good and fresh behind the refrigerator cabinet. I chose a panini with ham, cheese and rocket and it was very good. Nice and warm and crispy on a cold winter's day.
